Major Highlights: 

Dr. Wei JIANG earned his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Macau and was a visiting scholar at the School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California, courtesy of the T. C. Wang Fellowship. His screenplay was officially selected and subsidized by the Culture Bureau of Macau. Prior to joining Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), Dr. Jiang gained extensive industry experience, working as an Assistant Director and Art Department Coordinator with renowned film directors such as John Woo and Jiang Wen.

Dr. Jiang's research interests lie in the analyses of Japanese images in Chinese war films produced during and after Mao's era, the Revolutionary Model Opera films of the Cultural Revolution, and contemporary Chinese new media.

Before his association with HKBU, Dr. Jiang served as the Executive Dean for the School of Culture and Creativity at the Zhuhai Campus of HKBU, also known as the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC). During his leadership, he spearheaded the creation of three undergraduate programs and two master's programs, with a focus on digital orientation and interdisciplinarity.
