Bachelor of Communication (honours)-Film Major (Animation and Media Arts Concentration)

The Animation and Media Arts Concentration adopts programme-based admission.

All eligible JUPAS applicants should submit their application via JUPAS's website at http://www.jupas.edu.hk/en/

Direct (Non-JUPAS) applicants should submit their application via Academic Registry's website at https://iss.hkbu.edu.hk/amsappl_nj/

  interview

Potential candidates will be invited for interview in individual/group format. They are required to present their portfolios during the interview. The portfolios should be in digital format and demonstrate candidates’ potential in creativity, visual and design literacy, animation and/or game design.

  Admission Criteria

For Hong Kong students taking HKDSE for admission via JUPAS, the Entrance Requirements are:

SUBJECT LEVEL
English Language Level 3
Chinese Language Level 3
Mathematics Level 2
Liberal Studies Level 2
Elective Subjects (2 subjects) Level 3  (Note)

Note:

1) The first elective must be any Category A subjects excluding Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2);

2) The second elective can be any of the following subjects:

a) Category A subjects including Extended Part of Mathematics (Module 1 or Module 2);

b) Related Applied Learning subjects (with "Attained with Distinction (I)" or above) listed in the following website: http://www.comm.hkbu.edu.hk/admission/en/elective_subjects.html

c) Other Language subjects at Grade E or above.

Other Entrance Requirements
In addition to the HKDSE results, the Animation and Media Arts Concentration will take into consideration of the followings:

  • High choice banding in JUPAS application is preferred;
  • Good results in Chinese Language and English Language are preferred.

 

  Academic Score Calculation

This programme considers the best 5 HKDSE subjects including Chinese Language and English Language subjects in Academic Score Calculation.
