Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production*
Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production (2-year full time) aims to provide young people with an opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge systematically for entering the film, TV or creative media industries. It offers with six specializations, including:
- Directing
- Script Writing
- Acting Techniques
- Cinematography and Lighting
- Editing and Sound Mixing
- Art Direction
*The operation of the Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production programme will be administered by the College of International Education (CIE) of HKBU starting from AY2024/2025. All teaching and learning will continue to be delivered by the Academy of Film in the School of Creative Arts at the HKBU Kowloon Tong campus, and upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded the degree by HKBU. Due to possible future revamp of the programme, admissions for the AY2025/2026 academic year are suspended.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Programme, students should be able to:
- Explain in an informed and broad-based manner the theory, history and practice relevant to art, literature, film, television, new media and communication;
- Apply professional knowledge, skills and standards in work situations, with social consciousness and ethical responsibility;
- Think analytically, critically and creatively in order to demonstrate management skills and cultivate the potential for leadership skill;
- Perform one specialty in film and TV making craft using a comprehensive base of skills that demonstrate creativity, aesthetics sensitivity, and cultural literacy;
- Undertake careers and further studies in film and TV in response to the industry needs of Hong Kong and the Greater China Region.

Award
Students who have successfully completed the two-year programme and fulfilled all graduation requirements will be awarded the Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production by the Hong Kong Baptist University.

| Descriptions/Eligibility: | - Full-time final year students of Acting Techniques Specialization in their two years of studies of HD in Creative Film Production (from Semester 1 to 4) - Attained a minimum cGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 and be in the top five ranking of academic results amongst the eligible candidates - One student shall only get once within the study in HD in Creative Film Production |
