本课程科目架构参考美国的「大学影视协会」规定而设立,科目分配如下:

课程设计的理念是让毕业生在熟悉多种媒体制作技巧的基础上,同时掌握一种媒体作为叙事和表达思想感情的创作手段。因此,课程框架为金字塔结构;在第一学年,本课程提供广泛的跨媒体制作训练,学生除了需掌握制作技巧外,亦须学习相关的理论与批评知识。学生可于第三、第四学期同时选修不同创意媒体的专业科目。在第五、第六学期,学生将会重点学习一种媒体制作形式,并以此为基础创作、开发和完成制作艺术硕士课程所需的毕业作品。
学生可选择以下形式的毕业作品:
i. 剧本写作
ii. 电影电视制作
iii. 数码媒体制作
* 由2016/17年起,本课程将不会提供正式三维动画(Maya)的培训。
为了与技术发展保持同步,并将前沿科技融入于传统电影制作,电影电视与数码媒体艺术(制作)硕士课程现已重组并更名为影视艺术与创意实践艺术(制作)硕士。2026年度9月入学的申请预计于12月中旬至下旬开放。详情请参考https://af.hkbu.edu.hk/en/programmes/mfa-cacp.html。
